THE NEW A6X IS IN THE WORKS. |
We are modifying the A6 rocker arms to give them bigger, more durable pivot knuckles. They will also use the same spring as the A7 and A8. The frame will be modified as well, with a little more pitch (lowered in front a touch), and everything will be much tighter so the arms won't get loose. When the new A6X is done and tested, which will take a couple of months, it will have the same $125 tag as the A7 and A8.

The current A6 is going on Closeout for $79 until we only have warranty parts left. It will come with an extra pair of rocker arms and have the usual one year warranty. The team pac and wholesale prices are being reduced proportionately.
WHAT'S UP.
In about a week Sprungs will be available at Sin Bin in Edmonton with some excellent ice and roller players waiting on the first shipment.
The West Covina Sprung Bandits will be at NARCh in the Silver Division. I think they are all on Sprungs now. This is my home rink and I'm honored to be involved with these guys.
OLDER NEWS.
We're continuing our 10 Pack Team Price deal with a $105 price per pair for the A8 and a $59 price per pair for the A6, with the purchase of ten pair. The 10 Pack deal can be mixed sizes, and includes the option of getting our select team uniforms at our cost, direct to you.
These frames are tough enough to do the job, so at the present we are not including any extra parts. If we ever decide to include some parts, they'll automatically go to all purchasers, new and old. They're covered by our One Year Warrantee that starts when you buy them. If anything breaks, we replace the part for free. For a year.
We sold out of our old model A6, and our first shipment of our new model. They got all over the world and firmly linked us with the ice players who also play roller. With our ice-like performance, we provide the best crossover between ice and roller ... and back, in the industry.
By total fortune and having the goods when tested, we are now the number one Roller Hockey topic on Modsquadhockey.com
Through the discussions of Sprung users and those interested, we have documented player approval from around the world. The old model did this for us. It set a goal to surpass that was already the best there is.
This is probably a good time to reveal some very helpful maintenance hints which will help you remember that these are real machines.
The first one is easy to spot. Once in a while, make sure the two 3/8" Hex nuts are on tight.
The other one concerns the aluminum wheel hardware, the axles and nuts. Specifically, make sure the 3/8" wheel axle nut is totally seated in its inset so that the axle won't miss-thread and strip. It's a good idea to keep a finger over the nut when you're screwing in the axle.

What makes our roller hockey frames so much better than conventional products? The Patented Sprung Voodootech Chassis has Progressive
Independent Suspension, so that all four wheels move separately in the
frame, and the spring action gets stiffer as more pressure
is applied.
They work just like high-end racing suspension on cars and motorcycles,
only much simpler, thanks to our unique suspension system. These frames
are the first time a suspension of this type has ever been used on anything
in the world.
As your weight moves forward or backward, you keep your balance much
better because the suspension absorbs the weight transfer and keeps
more wheels on the ground. As you push off, you go through the toe, from
four, to three, to two wheels. The energy is stored in the polyurethane springs
and then released, shooting you forward.
When you turn, as your weight shifts to the center of your legs, your turn
goes from four down to two wheels, so that the turning radius is much
shorter and quicker than a conventional chassis. | | | Large A8 and medium A6 frames |
What all of this does, besides making you much more stable and balanced
on your skates, is make you quicker with a much tighter turning radius. They
take off and carve through turns just like ice hockey blades. For roller hockey
players, they are the best performing skates they've ever used, by far. For ice
hockey players, they are instantly familiar, because they duplicate the action
and performance of ice hockey blades, making it much easier to make the
transition from ice to roller hockey. There is really very little difference between
ice and roller hockey with these frames. Tests of our most recent model have proven the
chassis is practically indestructible and can take impacts that would totally destroy
an aluminum chassis.
Almost everyone that tries them loves them instantly, but our biggest growth
area is among the skaters that play both roller and ice hockey.
How do you make excellent even better? |
There are quite a few important differences between the old and the new models. The
first is a redesign of the rocker arms and frame in the pivot pin area. We widened
the cross-section, to decrease the side leverage applied to the rocker arms by the
wheels when taking off and turning hard. Doing this allowed us to add material in
critical high-stress areas. It also widened the spring contact area of the rocker arm
and the spring. This increased the resistance of the spring, making the ride firmer,
with better stability and front to rear balance.
We also added material to the center section of the frame to lessen lateral torque, or
twisting. Knowing we would be using the same hardware on the medium and large
sizes, we went ahead and increased the diameter of the pivot pin, too.
Basically, we upgraded the medium frame to accomodate the 325 Lb. plus skaters
that wear a size 10 or less. Except for the hardware, the large frame is even beefier
where we thought it might need it.

The remaining major change was in the material the product is made from. We've
found a plastic formula that is much more resistant to stress and heavy impact than
that used in the old model.
Between the design modifications and the new plastic, we have succeded, better than
our expectations, in improving the performance and durability of a product that was
already way beyond its competition.
This doesn't mean it won't get even better in the future. But, it does mean that this
frame will not only out perform anything else on the market, it'll probably outlast the
boots it's mounted on and have still some resale value.
